We use them each day, is the oldest form of education we have. We use them in stories, jokes and stories. They're so common to us that infrequently we don't realize the surpassing impact of metaphors in our humdrum lives. Today, I invite you to learn more about them.

What are metaphors?

The metaphor can be outlined as a comparison between 2 terms that appear unrelated and give us a deeper meaning. (trabajos por internet)

As an example, “Your eyes are like 2 bright stars,” that can make us understand the eyes are clear, illuminated. Poetry is a great source of unending metaphors.

The metaphor is the main mechanism by which we understand abstract concepts and perform abstract reasoning. A lot of what we understand, from the common to the more abstract theories of science, can be assimilated only via metaphor. The metaphor is by nature rather than linguistic, essentially conceptual.

The metaphor permits us to understand a comparatively abstract or intrinsically matter without structure, in terms of a rather more particular area, or at least more structured. So great philosophical, theoretical and non secular are sometimes explained through metaphors.

Now, What's the use the metaphors ?

The metaphors used to convey messages without contaminating them with our own interpretations or readings. They seem to be a tool we can use to share a standpoint, teaching, something of worth that may be derived from history.

So … We can use metaphors to:

1. Communicate better with folk and that metaphors can communicate a good deal of intention with a simple phrase.

2. Head into a rather more subjective, connect us with the comatose (and our listener’s metaphor).

The major contribution of metaphors to NLP

And what's a metaphor in NLP? When we explain or communicate an idea by comparing it to something else, we are employing a metaphor. EduynLabino

NLP Metaphors are a

way of using language to speak something indirectly. It is then an engaging and effective cure used as the aspect “Language” is critical in NLP.

Then, a metaphor is used to cover stories and language resources which would result in comparison. They can be easy comparisons, stories, allegories and comparisons more complicated. For example, expressions like “strong as steel” or “adaptable like water” are characteristic examples of metaphors.

A good metaphor can illuminate dark corners, helping you to connect, to relate something new, different, you don't know another that you know.
